
An unprecedented fair will be held in the capital during the month of June. Malagasy Design Gaze, the first “design fair” in Madagascar will be held from June 7 to 21 at Flow Gallery Ivandry. It is a living room entirely dedicated to design, initiated by Kiady Ratovoson, a Malagasy designer of international renown and the curator Ihoby Rabarijohn. As the name of the event suggests, this fair aims to reveal to the general public and professionals the richness, the potential and the excellence of the design “Made in Madagascar”, a way of attracting the attention of decorative arts and actors of interior architecture towards contemplation (“gauze”) of exceptional art objects. The theme of this first edition is focused on “living design”. Nature, a source of main inspiration, will be interpreted in the pieces which are specially made for the occasion, in different materials such as wood, ceramics, textiles or fine stone, among others.
Malagasy Design Fair will highlight the unique and prodigious creations of nine carefully selected designers, such as Fanjar, a designer who works the stone and also specializes in recycling, Ando Ramanantoa a multidisciplinary designer who explores ceramics, Chloé Soafaniry, the prices winner Paritana 2025, Georges Floret, Parisian passionate about the stones of Madagascar, or even Aina Dedem, a graphic designer, to name a few. Art lovers will have until June 21 to discover all their masterpieces. But Design Fair is also deployed outside the walls, especially at the Boutique de la Foundation H, with a highlight of sharing scheduled for June 14, as well as a tasting meeting at Le Gourmet restaurant, in Ankorondrano. The show will also be punctuated by various unpublished events around design. He will end with a dancing evening, on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, on June 21, during which Chef Lalaina Ravelomanana, of the Marais Restaurant, will highlight his talent in matters of food design.
