Madagascar has just added a new electronic visa category that allows tourists to stay longer on the island.
Since the reactivation of the service in April 2023, the electronic visa only allows international tourists to stay 60 days in Madagascar.
But good news for travelers who are planning a longer stay on the island, they now have a new category of e-Visa.
Indeed, tourists who apply for a visa online for Madagascar can now select a 90-day e-Visa.
The price of the electronic visa allowing you to stay up to 90 days in Madagascar is €50.
When it was activated in May 2019, the electronic visa application portal for Madagascar already offered this type of e-Visa, until its suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
What electronic visas does Madagascar offer (and for what prices)?
On the government portal evisamada-mg.com, the Malagasy authorities provide tourists with four types of single-entry electronic visas, the prices of which depend on the desired length of stay:
Duration of stay | Price |
---|---|
e-Visa Tourism – 1 to 15 days | 10 € (or 10 US$) |
e-Visa Tourism – 16 to 30 days | €35 (or US$37) |
e-Visa Tourism – 31 to 60 days | €40 (or US$45) |
e-Visa Tourism – up to 90 days | €50 (or US$55) |
Within 72 hours of finalizing the visa application form and online payment of the departmental fee, the applicant will be emailed an electronic travel authorization to print, or store digitally, for presentation to immigration officers on arrival.
The e-Visa allows entry to Madagascar from the following airports:
- Antananarivo (TNR)

- Antsiranana (DIE)
- Mahajanga (MJN)
- Holy Mary (SMS)
- Toamasina (TMM)
