Soon, trophies will be awarded to the actors who have best highlighted the authenticity of Madagascar and contributed to promoting its tourism sector. This will be done through Tropic’Award 2025, an initiative by Tropi’Com Agency, with the partnership and support of the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts and that of the Confederation of Tourism of Madagascar, among other partners.
It’s time to celebrate
The tourism sector in Madagascar has finally resumed its flight. Lova Ratovomalala, the executive director of the Malagasy Confederation of Tourism (CTM) even specified that the Big Island resumed its tourist levels of 2019, during the official presentation of this particular competition to the press yesterday. Indeed, because of the COVVI-19 pandemic, in 2020, the tourism sector underwent the 19 months of border closure, 80% technical unemployment, 900 million euros in losses generated in the chains of values. “But today this is behind us” he added yesterday. Almost all the indicators are green even if brakes are still there. But in any case, the milestones are laid for a certain improvement in the sector, to achieve the objective: to succeed in bringing a million tourists to Madagascar in 2028. Statistics already testify to this. Last year, Madagascar was able to welcome 308,000 tourists thanks to the joint efforts of all the players in this sector.
Recognition trophy
It is precisely to reward and celebrate these talents and all the innovations in this sector that Tropi’Com Agency designed Tropic’Awards 2025.
The organizers of the competition have implemented 11 categories in this competition which highlights all the actors who actively participated in the development of Malagasy tourism. Participants in each category were selected thanks to the recommendations of the National Tourism Office and Regional Offices, but also through opinions on dedicated sites such as Tripadvisor, among others.
All categories are subject to the public vote on social networks, until February 26th.
A whole day of celebration
The winners who will come out victorious from this competition will be revealed on March 1 during an official ceremony. It will take place at the Olympia Iarivo Andohatapenaka canal. The lucky winners will receive their trophy after this day dedicated to all players in this development sector.
But on the sidelines of this, conferences will be given by professionals in the sector, in the first part of this day. The first theme concerns the challenges and opportunities for tourism professions. The second will focus on opportunities and strategies to innovate tourism in the digital age.
Experts, entrepreneurs and influencers will share their experiences and advice to prosper in this sector. They will evoke the possible routes and the skills necessary to succeed in this world full of challenges and opportunities.
In addition, since tourism professionals will be gathered in the same place, it will be a unique opportunity to enrich its network, one element not to be overlooked to succeed in the business world.
Access to the event is also open to the public. Students are even encouraged to attend.
