Antananarivo, September 24, 6:15 a.m. – The revival of tourism continues its momentum. According to figures shared by the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts in its monthly review, 23,795 tourists arrived in Madagascar in August this year. This is a record for this month since 2020 and the health crisis.
Although this figure is higher than those of August 2023 and its 23,288 tourists, it remains far from the pre-crisis statistics. In August 2019, Madagascar welcomed 27,079 tourists.
This revival of tourism is also confirmed by the increase in air traffic in Madagascar reported by the Civil Aviation of Madagascar (ACM). The figures for the month of July released by the ACM this Monday show 126,000 passengers carried in the air during the month. An increase of 34% compared to the previous month and an increase of 3% compared to the same month last year is reported.
