
The Ampasanimalo dyeing will be the scene of an unprecedented event from this evening and, for two days of festivities. These include the celebration by the Malagasy diaspora of the new lunar year through the Taom-Baovao festival. It will be a great first in Madagascar but a second edition for the organizers who made the first edition in France, last year.
It was also after the success of its first edition in Paris which brought together nearly 2,000 visitors that the Taombaovao festival returns for an even richer and committed second edition. The organizers thought of extending the project to carry out this 2025 edition in Madagascar and France at the same time.
The Taombaovao festival is therefore back to celebrate Malagasy culture in a festive and committed atmosphere. Organized by Malagasy Women Empowerment and Tetikasa Ala, the event was designed to be a unique moment for the diaspora to promote their culture, their art and their commitments in favor of Madagascar.
On the tincture program, conferences and debates, artistic and culinary discoveries (the flavors of authentic Malagasy dishes), while highlighting the challenges of sustainable development and the representation of Malagasy women.
So this evening, Vilon’Androy and Joyce Mena will perform lively From 7 p.m., to open the festivities. This showcase will be followed by a surprise set to extend the party until the end of the night.
Tomorrow, projections followed by debate are planned, whose film Unite for Bissau, which highlights women defying patriarchy by creating agroecological institutions, fighting against genital mutilation and by rejecting forced marriages in this African country.
Conferences on the environment, the green and blue economy, governance and sustainable fashion will also be on the program tomorrow, without forgetting the market of creators who will offer fashion accessories and craft masterpieces.
Just like during the festival which took place in Paris, a tattoo stand will also be set up during the day of tomorrow.
Furthermore, the barter K-Mëc will demonstrate his art, among other activities.
The festival will be closed by a Rajery concert tomorrow evening. A rich and varied program in perspective.
