Distinguished knight of the Order of Arts, Letters and Culture by the Ministry of Culture and Communication in January 2025, Ny Tsiaro, the sentimental poet is in her second work. The Midi Madagasikara team had the opportunity to interview him.
Midi Madagasikara. Good morning. Who is Ny Tsiaro? What is the path you have crossed before becoming a poet?
Ny Tsiaro. Ny Tsiaro is my feather name, my real name is Ny Tsiaro Elihangy Ranaivoaritsimba. I started to scratch in 6th grade, I was 11 years old. I decided to embark on a real career in 2008.
MM lately, writers have not focused only on their typewriter and computer. Now they go on stage and present recitals. Are you like these Malagasy contemporary writers?
Nt Indeed ! My first scene took place in July 2021 in the Dox room in the National Library. It was during an event entitled Misaingy Kalo. I shared the scene with Pelasoa in April 2022. I participated in cultural events organized by the Circle of Poets Faribolana Sandratra. The collection will be adapted to a musical and presented on stage in October 2025.
MM Ny Tsiaro. You will soon release a work. What do you mention in this book? What differentiates him from the previous ones?
Nt “Masoandro Amam-Bolana”, a collection of poems made up of 50 texts and counting 75 pages. As the title suggests, the texts speak of fathers and mothers, facets of parent-child relationships. This is my second work. The first is entitled “Vonifanja”, released in May 2021. It is dedicated to mothers.
MM Why did you choose this quite colorful photo as a book cover? What is the message you are trying to transmit through this image?
Nt I chose the image of a family walking together towards a sunset to evoke precious moments shared but also a thought to those who left us. The photo also shows links, love in the family. The contrast between the setting sun and the moon evokes the cycle of life.
MM Have you encountered difficulties in carrying out this collection of poems?
Nt. I planned to release “Masoandro Amam-Bolana” in 2022 but my father’s death occurred the same year. I no longer had the courage to continue the project so I left it aside. And this year, I felt stronger to come back to the project, so here it is!
