In the process, the mayor of Grand-Bassam, Jean-Louis Moulot, who was alongside the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Siandou Fofana, explored, through exchanges, new opportunities for collaboration with the host country in the tourism and craft sectors.
“The theme of the edition ”The art of travel” made it possible to highlight the immense tourist, cultural and gastronomic potential of Côte d’Ivoire. It was also a unique opportunity for Grand-Bassam to strengthen its links with Madagascar in various sectors such as crafts and tourism,” said Mayor Jean-Louis Moulot.

It should be noted that the participation of the city of Grand-Bassam in this tourism fair was made through the Ivory Coast embassy in South Africa. The opportunity was perfect for the seaside town to promote its many tourist attractions to a large international audience.
Indeed, Grand-Bassam has attractions in spades. Located on the southeast coast of Ivory Coast, the town of Grand-Bassam is recognized for its rich historical heritage, its culture, its sumptuous fine sandy beaches and above all its picturesque architecture which has also earned it its listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
“The presence of Grand-Bassam at this major event made it possible to present its tourist attractions to Malagasy and international visitors, while consolidating its position as a destination of choice in West Africa. The city’s active engagement in networking sessions and B2B meetings has also paved the way for strategic partnerships, notably with the Malagasy National Tourism Office. Which aims to stimulate tourist exchanges between Grand-Bassam and Madagascar,” indicated Jean-Louis Moulot.
And to continue: “our participation marks a significant milestone in our international tourism promotion strategy, demonstrating our commitment to attracting more visitors to our shores and our diverse cultural heritage.”
