The Ministry in charge of Tourism and Crafts organized a donors’ conference yesterday at the Radisson Blu hotel at Tana Water Front.
The Minister of Tourism and Crafts, Joël Randriamandranto, presented on this occasion the flagship projects of his ministerial department as well as the results of its activities during the 100 days. The state of play of the two interdependent sectors, namely tourism and crafts, were also discussed. Around twenty commercial partners and technical and financial partners actively participated in this donor conference. Among which, “ around ten of them signed a partnership agreement with the ministry while other partners have expressed their interest in supporting our various projects by committing to continuing the technical meetings to have more details including budgeting », explained the responsible minister.

By way of illustration, Ravinala Airports undertakes, among other things, to provide financial support for the training of artisans in Nosy-Be with a view to their professionalization and to organize exhibitions of artisanal works at the airports. “ We will also facilitate the arrival of Tour Operators and international influencers by offering incentive offers on aeronautical fees to have cheaper plane tickets. Our objective is to improve the notoriety of the Madagascar destination internationally », mentioned the CEO of Ravinala Airports, Julien Coffinier. For his part, Minister Joël Randriamandranto plans to bring in this year 600 transmitting Tour Operators who will make educational tours to Madagascar in order to better sell the destination. “ Around a hundred of them from different countries will come to the 10e edition of the ITM show in June while 1,500 international Tour Operators will be invited each year from 2025 “, he said. In addition, the Radisson Blu group is making its conference rooms available while providing financial support for the arrival of around ten international influencers to Nosy-Be this month.
1,542 artisans to be trained
As for ACPE (Continuous Improvement for Employees), it is ready to train craftsmen who have a lot of know-how by instilling in them the notion of being on the lookout for customer satisfaction. For the BNI Madagascar bank, it will provide financial support for the organization of the whale festival to raise awareness of Madagascar by committing to the preservation of the environment and biodiversity, in addition to the awareness campaign on banking. Speaking of Madaozi and Telma, they renewed their partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts. That’s not all! The GEFP is ready to make scrap materials available to artisans, train them and put them in contact with member companies. The FID, for its part, will contribute financially to the training of 1,542 artisans while Welt Hunger Health will support the development of the eco-recycling sector, as part of the signing of a partnership agreement with the supervisory ministry.
