
The professional training in documentary information, archival and museum (IDAM) of the Department of History of the University of Antananarivo officially presented the association of its outgoing called Alumni Idam, on Wednesday March 19 at the Amphi 24 of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Antananarivo.
The creation of this association is one of the components of the FAMA project (training and archives in Madagascar) that the Department of History Porte with the National School of Paris Charters, the Grande School of World Renowplates Sciences founded in 1821. FAMA is a program to support the development of teaching
French superior in Africa (ADESFA), which supports academic cooperation initiatives between French and African establishments allowing identification and adaptation to the local needs of the employability of graduates, and funded by the Ministry of Europe and French Foreign Affairs.
During his speech, the president of the association confirmed: “ The fields of information, documentation, archivals and museums today constitute a strategic issue for the performance of all development players, both state, public, private, cultural and educational ».
Indeed, the Alumni Idam association brings together documentary information professionals from the Idam of Ambohitsaina route today occupying positions linked to their training. The members of the Alumni Idam are archivists, documentalists, mediatiches, librarians, museum employees, documentary project managers, etc. Because the IDam (information-documentation, archival and museology) journey of the History Department prepares students to become operational, autonomous and managers in their predilection field. It should be remembered that this journey is still the only academic training in archive sciences, documentary information and museology issuing an official diploma (license and master) specialized in archival, documentary information and museology available in Madagascar.
