Andavadoaka, this small fishing village, located about 180 km north of Toliary, is a destination for adventurers. The trip to access it is indeed an adventure in itself: more than seven hours of hectic road in 4 × 4 from Toliary, but each shock is quickly forgotten in front of the exceptional landscapes which parade.

The adventure on the coastal track connecting Ifaty to Andavadoaka, a demanding course of sand and stones, is rewarded by crossing the superb regions of Ankasy, Salary and Ambatomilo. These exceptional sites are home to prestigious hotel establishments, respectively the Ankasy Lodge, Salary Bay, as well as Mikea Lodge and Mamirano Ecolodge.

Once in Andavadoaka, the show is breathtaking. This tourist site, still spared by mass tourism, is a real gem. We discover a very long and magnificent sandy beach, where turquoise and crystalline water turns into a real natural swimming pool.

It was in this idyllic setting that we discovered the Manga Lodge, one of the few accommodation of this haven of peace. More than a simple place of stay, the lodge offers an immersion in an environment where the simplicity and the warmth of the reception combine with a preserved nature.

Nestled in the heart of a spectacular landscape, the manga lodge seduced by its authenticity. The bungalows, with sober and neat architecture, integrate into perfect harmony with the surrounding natural decor. Here, luxury lies in the tranquility of the premises, the breathtaking view of the lagoon and the proximity to three private sandy beaches. The warm welcome of our hosts helped to make this stay a memorable experience, inviting us to a real resource.

The days are punctuated by the sun, the sea, and the meals, without forgetting the sunset. Indeed, when the day declines in Andavadoaka, the sky ignites. From the terrace of your bungalow or that of the restaurant, the show is total. No barrier disturbs the sight, only an infinite canvas where the sun slowly plunges into turquoise waters. It is a moment of absolute tranquility, when orange, pink and purple shades paint the horizon and are reflected on the peaceful lagoon. A suspended moment, promise of a sweet and serene evening.

Exploration does not stop at the coast. Aboard a fishermen’s canoe, we were able to venture to a small island very little inhabited in front of Andavadoaka. A magical moment, a feeling of the end of the world.

That’s, the magic of Andavadoaka: a simplicity that turns into wonder. If you are looking for an authentic corner of paradise in Madagascar, where the effort is rewarded with beauty, Andavadoaka awaits you.
