Tourists who stay up to 15 days in Madagascar will pay less for their visa.
In order to stimulate the recovery of tourism on the island, Madagascar yesterday unveiled good news for travelers’ wallets.
The Ministry of Tourism announced on September 19 on its Facebook page that Tourists who visit Madagascar for 15 days or less and request their visa upon arrival in the country no longer have to pay the visa fee but only pay a tax of €10.
“From now on, for stays of 15 days or less, passengers to Madagascar no longer have to pay the visa fee. However, a fee of 10 euros for border control formalities remains to be paid. declares the Malagasy Ministry of Tourism.
Madagascar, which lifted all its health travel restrictions on August 11, 2022, previously required €35 on arrival for the issuance of a visa valid for up to 30 days.
Contacted by VisasNews, the Embassy of the Republic of Madagascar in France informs its future users that this special pricing “does not yet come into force for visa processing at the Embassy”applicants are therefore still subject to payment of consular fees, amounting to €27 for a 30-day pre-departure visa.
For travelers who stay more than 15 days in Madagascar, a 30, 60 or 90 day visa can be requested, before departure, from the Embassy or an approved agency; upon arrival, the Malagasy immigration authorities also issue visas for 30 days (35€) or 60 days (40€).
