The population of Nosy-Be is in full swing as the 2024 tourist season looks promising for the Perfume Island.
After the arrival the day before yesterday of the airline Flight Bulgaria, directly linking Bulgaria and Nosy-Be, another private airline landed yesterday on the tarmac of Fascene international airport. This is the Neos Air flight which carried 300 Italian passengers on board. “More than 90% of these Italian tourists travel with family. And of the 300 passengers who disembarked, half of them have already planned their seven-day stay at the Andilana Beach Resort while the other 150 Italian tourists are distributed among other tourist establishments in Nosy-Be »declared Geraldo Randrianjafinirina, the executive director of the Nosy-Be Regional Tourist Office (ORTNB).
First choice
And he adds that these Italian tourists will do all the traditional circuits of the Perfume Island. We can cite, among others, visits to Nosy Iranja, Nosy Tanikely, Nosy Komba, Mont Passot and the Lokobe nature reserve without forgetting the discovery of its fauna and flora and of course its seaside sites. “Nosy-Be therefore constitutes their first choice of destination in Madagascar. Furthermore, spending a vacation every year on this island is part of the culture of Italians. This is also facilitated by the resumption of the direct air connection between Nosy-Be and Milan in Italy”continued the executive director of ORTNB. It should be noted that the airline Neos Air provides service between the two cities with a frequency of one weekly flight. “On the return of these 300 passengers who stayed on the island of Nosy-Be for a week to their country, other Italian tourists will also disembark next week”he said.
2e charter flight
Coming back to the airline Flight Bulgaria, “she carried out the day before yesterday on the 2e charter flight after the inaugural flight in November 2023. It carried on board 160 Bulgarian tourists with 7 crew members. The majority of these passengers travel with family”explained Adolphe Samsidine, manager of Zara Voyages, who claims to be the initiator of this project aimed at attracting Bulgarian tourists to Madagascar. “They like to discover the Perfume Island while diving and fishing, without forgetting the beach and excursions to the three islets”he continued. Following Madagascar’s recent participation in the Holiday & Spa international tourism fair in Sofia, Bulgaria, educational tours will be organized soon to help Bulgarian Tour Operators better sell the destination on their local market. Other charter flights directly linking the two countries are also planned this year.
