Frédéric Debord, Managing Director of Orange Madagascar, and Lova Ratovomalala, Executive Director of the Confederation of Tourism of Madagascar (CTM), signed an innovative and high impact partnership agreement for the tourism sector.

Orange Madagascar will support the revival of the tourism sector in Madagascar, by supporting the Confederation of Tourism in Madagascar (CTM). The two partners share the same values, innovation and preservation of the natural housing of the Big Island, one of the greatest wealth of the Madagascar destination. Frédéric Debord, Director General of Orange Madagascar, and Lova Ratovomalala, Executive Director of the Confederation of Tourism of Madagascar, signed this Friday, May 5, 2023 a partnership agreement in this direction.

Digital constitutes an upheaval of the entire ecosystem of tourism players. Through the partnership, Orange Madagascar undertakes to support the tourism sector in its digital transformation, and to promote solidarity and responsible tourism. CTM members will thus benefit from digital skills training through the Orange Digital Center (ODC) Madagascar program. ODC is a training program that works for professional integration and the rise in digital skills. Since its opening, ODC has formed more than 1,600 learners, including 61% of women.

Convinced that there cannot be sustainable economic growth without social progress and taking into account the preservation of the environment, Orange Madagascar will also support the CTM in the implementation of the Solidarity and Sustainable Tourism Charter in Madagascar. A calendar of training on the concept of solidarity and sustainable tourism will be set up by both parties. Training intended for CTM members in order to contribute to the creation of a lasting value in their activities.

Orange Madagascar supports the digital inclusion of CTM members through two powerful tools for the digitalization of professional activities: WiFiber Pro, High Speed Internet dedicated to professionals, and Orange Money for the digitalization of financial transactions.

Tourism is naturally a major and essential activity center for the economic development of the Big Island. For Orange, a trusted partner of the digital transformation of Madagascar, it is essential, to support and support this sector in its digital transformation. The CTM and Orange Madagascar are delighted with this partnership, serving professionals in the sector, tourists, and Malagasy.

For more than 20 years, Orange Madagascar has put its technological expertise at the service of all Malagasy and continues to deploy its network with an objective of opening up rural or even ultra-rural areas to accelerate the country’s economic development. Orange supports economic operators through innovative call, internet and mobile money solutions to give everyone and each the keys to a responsible digital world.
