One day, an artist returns to IFM this February 22, 2025 and puts the Dizzy Brains in the spotlight. After Kristel in 2019 and Gad Bensalem in 2020, 5 years ago, therefore, “one day, an artist” made his comeback at the French Institute of Madagascar (IFM). For this 2025 edition, the spotlights turn to The Dizzy Brains, an essential group of the Malagasy rock scene, recognized for its explosive energy and its captivating performances.One day, an artist is a unique concept where the French Institute dedicates an entire day to invest in its spaces and reveal all the facets of its universe. The public is invited to a total immersion in the creativity and singularity of the artist honored. For this new edition, The Dizzy Brains, an emblematic figure of Malagasy rock, will become programmer for a day. Visa Talent In 2017, this electric quartet was able to conquer international scenes with a hard -hitting and authentic style. Their journey led them to prestigious scenes like the Trans Musicales de Rennes or the Mama Festival in Paris or the Printemps de Bourges. They also resonated their voice in Canada, Europe and Asia, carrying the colors of Madagascar high. In 2024, they marked their return with a new album, “Maso Mahita». Precisely they will share it with the public during this exceptional day. This event is an invitation to (re) discover this unique group, whose raw and energetic rock reflects all the vitality of the Malagasy music scene. On the program of the day, an installation around the group and its influences in the IFM gallery. Around 10 a.m., Eddy Andrianarisoa, the group’s founder and vocal lead, accompanied by the guitarist Poun Andriambel, will make the public discover the texts that inspired him, from Baudelaire to Saez in the media library. Around 2 p.m., the documentary film The Dizzy Brains will be screened in the Albert Camus room. This film was co-produced by France Télévisions/Réunion Première and 504 productions The projection will be followed by a discussion on the theme “The problems of rock music in the face of the evolution of the musical world in Madagascar. Around 4 pm, a session “Kafe Sy Mozika” will give the public the opportunity to meet and chat with the group around a coffee while enjoying the collection of Eddy vinyls. Finally, around 5 p.m., return to the Albert Camus room for the concert that will close this day in style. The Dizzy Brains will invite some friends to share the scene with them.
