The 10th edition of the International Tourism Fair Madagascar (ITM) will be held from June 20 to 23, 2024 at the International Conference Center in Ivato (CCI). This year, Ivory Coast is the guest country of honor for this two-in-one fair, with the 1st edition of the Craft Fair coupled with it. And which will be followed, until June 26, by the First Ivorian Promotional Days on the Big Island

At the head of a large delegation of more than fifty public and private operators, the Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Siandou Fofana, is taking an active part in this meeting, with a very busy agenda. As “Guest Country of Honor”, the Sublime Côte d’Ivoire is obviously… in the spotlight! Also, Siandou Fofana took part alongside his counterpart, the Minister of Tourism and Crafts of Madagascar, Joël Randriamandranto, under the effective presidency of HE the President of the Malagasy Republic, in the official ceremony of opening, on Thursday June 20, during which he delivered a very relevant speech.

Particularly around the central theme of the ITM which is “The art of travel”. And this, in his capacity as a member of the presidium of the Executive Board of UN Tourism, of which he is also a member of the Task Force on “Rethinking Tourism”, but also as leader of the Regional Conference for Africa of UN Tourism.

Note that on the sidelines of the Fair, the First Ivorian Promotional Days on the Big Island will be held until June 26, punctuated by exhibitions, cultural events, culinary demonstrations, professional meetings.

But also and above all the signing of acts to strengthen the Abidjan/Antananarivo axis on the diplomatic, economic, commercial and tourist levels.

The Madagascar International Tourism Fair, it is important to specify, is one of the most important meetings of the tourist and recreational ecosystem, as well as cultural and artisanal in the Indian Ocean after the Indaba Show in Durban (Africa). South).

The ITM has become an essential event for the tourism sector in Madagascar, and this edition, organized around the theme “The art of traveling”, aims to promote tourism while encouraging a responsible and respectful approach to nature. This year, in addition, the ITM takes on particular importance as it is also the 20th anniversary of the Madagascar National Tourist Office (ONTM).
