INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR 2024 - Charming operation towards Africa

Onjaniaina Ranaivoarimanana, president of the ONTM, and Joël Randriamandranto, Minister of Tourism and Crafts, were present yesterday at the CCI Ivato.

The tenth edition of the international tourism fair will be held from June 20 to 23 at the Ivato International Conference Center. Ivory Coast will be the guest country of honor for this two-in-one show. The reason for this choice is that the Big Island intends to exploit the African market.

Discuss business and potential in terms of tourism. This is the backdrop for the tenth edition of the International Tourism Fair (ITM) and the first edition of the Craft Fair (IHM). During this two-in-one show, which will be held from June 20 to 23, at the Ivato International Conference Center, Ivory Coast will be the guest country of honor during the event. According to the National Tourism Office, ONTM, “an Ivorian delegation made up of tourist operators and artists will occupy a space dedicated to them during this show”.

Apart from the cultural folklore which will be presented by this Ivorian delegation, the ITM will also be an opportunity to discuss tourism development opportunities between tourism operators from the two countries. The Big Island is eyeing Ivorian tourism potential. Even seeing it as a windfall for the sector in full recovery. Joël Randriamandranto, Minister of Tourism and Crafts, explained yesterday that this choice was not fortuitous.

New routes

“This year, we aim to attract many African tourists to visit our country. The Ivorians do not just come to make their country known. They also come with a delegation of entrepreneurs to interact with our tourism professionals. This is done so that there is an agreement for cooperation to be signed at the end of the show between operators from the two countries,” he explains. A judicious look at the African market and the potential of West Africa in general.

In recent months, the authorities have charted new paths, developing partnerships in Eastern Europe and India. It will be Ivory Coast which will be the third country with which Madagascar intends to collaborate in the field of tourism. “These different markets are exploited because there are more air connections which facilitate access to these continents. Hence the interest in developing fruitful partnerships with them,” explained the Minister of Tourism. Opportunities are created with frequent contact between operators. This is the reason why exchange between professionals is continually highlighted.

With all-round partners, in the fields of hotels, restaurants, tourism and also the media, the 10th edition of the ITM and the first edition of the IHM will be the unmissable events for professionals of these sectors. The show also adjoins the celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the ONTM. More than six hundred tourism and craft professionals will meet at the CCI Ivato for four days. Nine tour operators specializing in local tourism will be there to promote national tourism, with offers dedicated to the discovery of Antananarivo. They will be offered to tourists from the four corners of the island.
